Ulsan Ulju-gun Public Health Center Installs ‘One-Way Movement’ Floor Signs at 120 Bus Stops

Ulsan Ulju-gun Public Health Center announced on the 26th that it has installed floor signs for the “One-Way Movement” at 120 bus stops in the region.

The signage installed this time was installed on the floor at the entrance of the bus stop to encourage walking in daily life by providing information such as the distance to the next stop, travel time and calorie consumption.

According to the walking guidelines for Koreans, walking regularly reduces the risk of all deaths, reduces the risk of obesity and reduces the risk of developing diseases such as eight major cancers, heart disease, stroke, dementia and diabetes. It is also known that people who walk at least 7,000 steps a day have a 50-70% lower chance of dying after 10 years than people who walk fewer than 7,000 steps.

Ulju-gun Public Health Center has installed road markings at 467 bus stops, or 59% of all bus stops in Ulju-gun, over the past four years, and plans to promote the installation at 70% of all bus stops by next year. An official from the Ulju-gun Public Health Center said, “With the aim of improving the health of residents through the practice of regular walking, we will strive to create an environment for walking in daily life, including stop signs,” and added: “ Starting this year, with the full implementation of the Walking Activation Support Ordinance, we will launch a mobile platform.” “We plan to introduce various challenges and provide incentives based on mileage walked.” Journalist Kang Gwi-il
