UMBC Defeats New Hampshire in Dominant America East Conference Matchup
DURHAM, N.H. — The UMBC Retrievers secured a decisive 85-63 victory over the New Hampshire Wildcats in an America East Conference game on Saturday, . Jah’likai King and DJ Armstrong led the Retrievers in scoring, both contributing 17 points to the win.
King was efficient from the field, shooting 5 of 9 including 1 of 3 from the three-point line, and a perfect 6 for 6 from the free-throw line. Armstrong also had a strong performance, hitting 6 of 10 shots, with 3 of 6 coming from beyond the arc, and adding three steals. Caden Diggs contributed 15 points for UMBC, shooting 6 of 9 from the field and 3 of 5 from three-point range.
The Retrievers now hold a record of 16-8 overall and 9-2 in the America East Conference. They demonstrated strong shooting throughout the game, finishing with a field goal percentage of 52% (30-58) and a free throw percentage of 84% (16-19).
