Right stomach pain Risk of appendicitis

Right stomach pain The acute phase can be risky Appendicitis A disease that can occur at any age. Symptoms can be similar to normal abdominal pain and in most cases diagnosis takes a long time. With consequent complications

The appendix is a part of the digestive system separate from the large intestine. Lower abdominal area on the right side It is a tube about 3-4 inches long. Its function is to create immunity for the intestinal area.

What are the causes of appendicitis?

For this symptom, doctors are not yet able to find a clear cause of the disease. But it could be caused by a blockage in the appendix hole. This is because the appendix is similar to the intestine and has a small hole when a lump of foreign material is present. Small pieces of stool that have hardened and stuck. It causes a buildup of venous blood that cannot flow back and arterial blood cannot enter, causing ischemia and inflammation. If left untreated, it can cause the wall of the appendix to rot and rupture. It is also believed that if you eat fruits that contain many seeds, such as guava, the seeds can cause appendicitis.

Warning signs of appendicitis

Stages of appendicitis

Stage 1: When the appendix starts to block. The result will be that the patient will have acute abdominal pain around the navel, abdominal distension and loss of appetite.

Stage 2: The appendix will begin to swell. and cause abdominal pain to the patient in the right rib area. Diarrhea may also be present in some patients.

Phase 3: The phase with the greatest risk of danger. This is because there is a possibility that the appendix will rupture causing the bacteria to spread into the abdominal cavity. If the surgery is not performed, germs can enter the bloodstream and cause the patient’s death.

Complications of appendicitis

When a patient has symptoms of appendicitis and does not receive timely treatment. It can cause a ruptured appendix. This causes germs to spread around the wound and can cause the following complications.

– Peritonitis When a patient has a ruptured appendix, germs can spread into the tissues, causing inflammation in the abdominal cavity. The patient will have a high fever. Increased shortness of breath You have severe abdominal pain

-Abscess in the abdomen In some patients with a ruptured appendix, an abscess forms in the abdominal cavity. Abscesses in the abdomen are caused by the body trying to fight germs. When the doctor has treated with surgery The tube will proceed to drain the pus and abscess present in the body.

How to treat

When a patient has appendicitis, doctors usually treat it with surgery. Although there is currently little research on the ability to treat inflammatory appendicitis by administering antibiotics alone. But it is necessary to select only a few patients and there is a possibility that the treatment will not be successful and there is a possibility that the inflammation will return. Appendix surgery can be divided into 2 types as follows:

Endoscopic surgery It is a treatment that is popular today. Because the wound is small Patients take a short time to recover. Endoscopic treatment methods will allow the doctor to see the abnormalities more clearly through the camera, making the surgery safer and reducing complications that may occur following the surgery.

Open surgery It is treated by opening an incision in the lower abdomen on the right side at the appendix.

Currently, there is research according to which it is possible to treat appendicitis with mild inflammation by giving only antibiotics. But only some patients need to be selected and there is a possibility that the treatment will not be successful and there is a possibility that the inflammation will return. Appendicitis is a symptom of pain in the right side of the abdomen. Acute disease that cannot be cured on its own If the patient knows the initial symptoms indicating Appendicitis You should immediately consult a doctor for diagnosis and timely treatment to avoid life-threatening complications.
