According to reports, Air China flight CA8524, en route from Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, to Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province, experienced the sound immediately after takeoff, which progressively intensified to become audible to all passengers once the plane reached an altitude of 8,000 meters. This sparked concern and unease among some passengers.
In response, the airline decided to make an emergency landing at Hubei Airport in Wuhan, the midway point of the journey, with rescue teams on standby as a precaution.
Despite the unsettling noise, International Airlines assured that the safety inspection confirmed no mechanical issues, and the plane would proceed to its destination of Wenzhou without any further incident. However, the exact cause of the sound was not disclosed.

The sound, which started immediately after take off, became loud and clear enough to be heard by all the passengers on board when the plane reached a height of 8,000 metres, and some passengers were worried and upset.
The airline eventually made an emergency landing at Hubei Airport in Wuhan, the halfway point, and rescuers were dispatched in case of an emergency.
International Airlines said, “As a result of the plane’s safety inspection, it was confirmed that there was nothing wrong, and that it was operating normally to its destination, Wenzhou,” but did not reveal the cause of the sound.
