The music video, a collaboration between “This World is Worth Fighting For,” currently being serialized in “Weekly Big Comic Spirits,” and the song “Wasureru” by popular artist MONO NO AWARE, was released on YouTube today, September 9th!
The music video, created by video artist Gen, was shot in locations linked to important scenes in the manga, and is a manga music video that uses innovative visual expression that combines live action with the world of manga.
Comments were received from MONO NO AWARE’s Shuhei Tamaki and Hatsumi Kodama, author of “This World is Worth Fighting For” regarding this special collaboration.
Shuhei Tamaki’s Thoughts on the Collaboration
“It’s not that things have changed, it’s that Ito has returned to the way it was before.”
This line from the film left a lasting impression on me, and at that moment, the protagonist, Noriko Ito, remembered herself, whom she had forgotten. What is always strange is that when I forget, I am alone, but when I remember, I am with someone.
Battles are often depicted as lonely, but the person fighting them is the only one who thinks so, and in reality, someone is standing by them. My trusted friend, Gen-kun, made a video of this manga that makes you want to believe this.
Hatsumi Kodama’s Thoughts on the Collaboration
In 2019, I came across “Kamukamo Shikamoni Domokamo!” on NHK Minna no Uta while watching it with my youngest child, who was still a baby at the time. I never imagined that my manga, which I was completely fascinated by, would take such a happy form. I’m so happy that I can’t deny that it’s still a dream, so I play the MV every day. The scene at the end makes my heart warm no matter how many times I watch it.
