During the seventh conversation organized by the Aragua Workers’ Struggle Coordinator, in recent days, important topics related to the political, economic and social perspectives for this year were addressed.

This was expressed by its president, Manuel Vásquez, when stating that with this initiative, Venezuelan workers have come together to discuss the precarious working and salary conditions that affect the country’s working class.

In this event, Eduardo Sánchez, president of the National Union of UCV Workers and the Federation of University Workers, together with Deyanira Romero, general secretary of Sinatra-UCV, Maracay branch, had notable participation.

The interventions of the union leaders highlighted the urgency of dignifying the concept of salary in a country, where the economic situation severely impacts workers.

Eduardo Sánchez emphasized the importance of wages as a crucial element in the relationship between capital and labor.

In the same order, he denounced the conditions of “neo-slavery imposed by unfavorable wage policies.”

For her part, Deyanira Romero explained the reality faced by university workers, “who are forced to survive with insufficient salaries, which are not enough to cover basic needs.”

He called for the unity of workers, highlighting the need to “build the union to achieve fair and dignified demands regarding salaries and pensions.”

Rosa Elena Gelves, president of Fetraragua, added her voice to the union struggle, emphasizing the importance of the strategic unity of workers in order to achieve freedom and decent wages for Venezuelan families. She highlighted the need to “rebuild the country” and provide workers with the decent conditions they deserve.

The meeting served to generate proposals regarding the salary issue and to call on workers for a large mobilization that will take place this Wednesday, within the framework of the commemoration of Worker’s Day.

“The Venezuelan workforce remains steadfast in its fight for fair conditions and decent wages that allow them to live with dignity and guarantee a prosperous future for their families.” Rosa Elena Gelves.
