United Airlines Flight Attendants Reach Tentative labor Agreement

United Airlines and the Association of Flight attendants-CWA announced Friday a tentative labor agreement covering 28,000 flight attendants. The agreement, if ratified, would provide “industry-leading” economic improvements and quality of life enhancements.
The union reported the tentative agreement includes 40% in total economic improvements during the first year. It also includes retroactive pay, a signing bonus, and improvements to scheduling and on-call time. Further details were not instantly available.
Flight attendants at United have been seeking wage increases and improvements to working conditions. They have not received a raise sence 2020.Last year, the cabin crew authorized a strike if a deal could not be reached and sought federal mediation during negotiations. Other U.S. flight attendants have been pushing for higher wages after pilots and other work groups secured new labor deals following the pandemic.
United Airlines said that the contract language will be finalized in the coming days, after which the deal will be put to a vote by the flight attendants.
