On October 29, at 15:20, the police from the Nilek County Public Security Bureau received a call from local residents, requesting assistance with a wild animal in distress. The caller reported finding a “little lamb” lying on the edge of a channel, shivering and struggling to stand.
Upon arrival, the civilian auxiliary police identified the animal as an ibex, a national second-level protected wild animal. After conducting a comprehensive inspection, they found no obvious trauma, but suspected that the ibex may have been suffering from physical exhaustion due to lack of food and water.
The ibex was taken to the police station for care and feeding, and was subsequently handed over to professionals for further treatment. This successful rescue operation highlights the importance of collaboration between law enforcement and the community in protecting endangered species.
