CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The tenth-ranked UNI⁤ Panthers ⁢wrestling team continued their undefeated streak, ⁢dismantling ⁤the Nebraska-Kearney Lopers 35-8 in a non-conference dual Saturday night.before a crowd of 2,473 at the McLeod ‍center, the Panthers showcased their depth and dominance, winning eight of ten matches, including six by bonus⁣ points. Two freshmen, Garret Rinken and Carter Freeman, made their collegiate dual debuts, both securing victories for UNI.

“It was a great team effort tonight,” said UNI head coach Doug Schwab. “We saw some young guys step up and make ⁢big contributions,and our ‍veterans wrestled ⁢with confidence and intensity.”

How It Happened

The Lopers struck first as Kyle Gollhofer dropped an 8-0 major decision to zach ⁢ourada at 125 pounds. However, the Panthers ⁣quickly responded with Rinken’s thrilling 8-5 sudden victory over Hector Serratos at 133 pounds. Rinken rallied in the third period, tying the match ‍at⁣ 5-5 before ⁢securing the takedown in overtime.

Freeman followed with a ⁤4-2 win over Joseph Airola at ‍141 pounds, showcasing his composure and‍ technical⁢ prowess. Adam Allard then delivered a dominant performance at 149 pounds, dismantling Beau Hostler with a 15-0 technical fall in just 1:53.

Cael Rahnavardi continued the Panthers’ momentum ⁣at 157 pounds, cruising ⁢to an 8-0 major decision victory over Cael robb.

After the intermission, Jack Thomsen extended UNI’s lead with a 12-4 major decision over Trenton Munoz at 165 pounds.⁤ ⁢

The‍ Panthers secured the dual victory with pins from Austin Yant at 174 pounds ⁢and parker Keckeisen ⁤at 184 pounds.

Looking Ahead

The Panthers (3-0) will⁣ look to continue their winning streak next weekend when they travel to face another top-ranked opponent.

Cedar Falls, Iowa – The No.⁢ 10 University of Northern Iowa ⁤Panthers wrestling team delivered a resounding⁣ performance, ⁣dismantling the Nebraska-Kearney Lopers 35-8 ⁢in a dual meet at the West⁢ Gym on Thursday night.

The Panthers showcased their depth and dominance,securing bonus point victories in six of the ten‍ weight ‍classes. ⁣

The night began with ⁣a bang as UNI’s #17/19 Cael Happel (141 pounds) set the ⁣tone with a commanding 16-1 technical fall over Josh Portillo.Happel’s relentless offense and⁤ technical prowess proved too much for‍ Portillo,giving the panthers an early 5-0 lead.Max Thomsen (149 pounds) followed suit, ⁢controlling his match against Isaac deaton from start⁤ to finish. Thomsen’s aggressive style and strong riding time contributed to ‍a decisive 16-5 major decision, extending UNI’s lead.

At 174 pounds,‍ Nick Fox delivered a⁢ highlight-reel performance, pinning Dylan Vodicka in the first period with just 14⁤ seconds remaining. The fall marked Fox’s second ⁣pin of his career and ignited the home crowd.

Reigning NCAA champion Parker Keckeisen (184 pounds) continued his dominant run, securing his eighth career pin against Jacobi Deal in 6:12. Keckeisen’s relentless pressure and technical superiority have made him one of the moast feared wrestlers in the country.

Kalob Runyon (197 pounds) added another major decision⁣ to UNI’s tally, defeating Jackson Kinsella 12-3. Runyon’s strong takedowns and control⁢ time proved too much⁢ for Kinsella.

While Adam Ahrendsen (heavyweight) fell to top-ranked Division II wrestler crew Howard⁤ in a 15-3 major decision, the panthers’ overall performance was a testament to ‍their strength and depth.

Cedar Falls, IA – The University of Northern Iowa wrestling team delivered a dominant performance⁢ against⁤ the University of Nebraska-Kearney Lopers on Friday night, securing a decisive 34-3 victory.

The Panthers showcased their‍ depth and talent, winning eight ⁣of⁤ the ten matches.

Highlighting the night was #2/2 ranked Parker Keckeisen at 184 pounds.Keckeisen continued his impressive season with a pin over Jacobi Deal, ⁤securing the fall at the 6:12 mark.

“Parker ⁢is wrestling at an elite ‍level⁤ right now,” said UNI Head Coach Doug Schwab. “He’s a force to be reckoned with and⁤ sets a great example for the‍ rest⁣ of the team.”
