Leizhou Stone Dog Art Exhibition: A Cultural Inheritance and Innovation
In the heart of Leizhou Maodegong Drum City, the Moyou Coffee Shop is hosting a unique stone dog art exhibition. This exhibition showcases various stone dog paintings, adding a touch of the Leizhou Peninsula’s rich cultural heritage to the coffee shop. The Leizhou Stone Dog Art Exhibition, co-organized by the Leizhou Stone Dog Intangible Cultural Heritage Inheritance Studio, the Local Creation Studio, and Achao Township Travel Notes, is open to the public free of charge.
The stone dog, a unique folk worship totem in the Leizhou Peninsula, has its roots in the Yin and Zhou dynasties. The ancestors of the Li, Liao, and Yao ethnic groups, who lived in the Leizhou Peninsula, gradually expanded to become the ancestors of several ethnic groups in Leizhou. The Yao people believed that “dog” was their ancestor, and this tradition was passed down, forming the “stone dog” totem symbol of the Leizhou Peninsula. Despite being assimilated with the Han people later, the stone dog remained a unique local folk culture.
Chen Pengfei, the main creator of the Stone Dog Collection, spent a year and a half creating 101 stone dog paintings. He is thrilled to promote the Leizhou Stone Dog culture with like-minded friends.
This stone dog art exhibition is a visual feast, cultural inheritance, and innovation. It allows people to experience the profound cultural heritage and unique folk customs of the Leizhou Peninsula while enjoying their coffee.
The exhibition features a wide range of content, including the Leizhou Stone Dog Atlas, Stone Dog Glass Paintings, Stone Dog Photography Works, and Stone Dog Cultural and Creative Products. This provides a platform for the audience to fully understand the Leizhou Stone Dog culture.
By visiting the Leizhou Stone Dog Art Exhibition, you can immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of the Leizhou Peninsula and appreciate the unique folk customs that have been passed down through generations.
