Apple has officially unveiled the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max, the latest additions to its flagship series. While the design changes may not be drastic, the new features and upgrades are sure to excite Apple enthusiasts.

Design and Display

The iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max boast larger screens, measuring 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches respectively, with a higher resolution and a 120Hz ProMotion display. The new OLED screen, reportedly Samsung’s “M14” panel, offers improved brightness and color accuracy. The Dynamic Island remains unchanged, housing the 12MP selfie camera and Face ID. The screen frame is the thinnest in history, covered with a new generation of super-crystal porcelain glass.

The A18 Pro chip, based on the second-generation 3nm process, provides a significant boost in performance and power efficiency. The 6-core GPU is 20% faster than the A17 Pro, and the ray tracing performance has doubled. The 16-core neural engine offers 35 TOPS computing power, enhancing Apple Intelligence. The battery life is said to be the strongest in Apple’s history, with video playback time listed on the official website being up to 27 and 33 hours.

Camera and Imaging

The rear cameras feature a 48MP main camera, a 48MP ultra-wide angle, and a 12MP 5X telephoto lens. The new machine can shoot up to 4K 120p Dolby Vision and ProRes videos, with spatial audio recording and real-time mixing effects during video recording. The A18 Pro’s exclusive media engine and USB-C 3 port make it an ideal creative tool.

Availability and Pricing

The iPhone 16 Pro will be available in 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB configurations, priced at HK$8,599, HK$9,399, HK$11,099, and HK$12,799 respectively. The iPhone 16 Pro Max is available in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB models, priced at HK$10,199, HK$11,899, and HK$13,599. Pre-orders will be accepted from 8pm on September 13th, with an official launch on September 20th.
