Sony Announces Software Updates for α7R V, FX3, and FX30 Cameras
Sony has announced software updates for the Sony α7R V, FX3, and FX30 cameras, enhancing their features and performance.
α7R V Body Software Update Ver. 3.00
- Shoot new footage while transferring previously shot footage to a smartphone or tablet using the Creators’ App (ver. 2.5.0 or later).
- Resume transfer to a smartphone or tablet even if it is interrupted midway using the Creators’ App (ver. 2.5.0 or later).
- Transfer only the differences that have not yet been transferred to your smartphone or tablet, and add footage to be transferred while transferring using the Creators’ App (ver. 2.5.0 or later).
- Upload images from your camera directly to Creators’ Cloud by setting it up in the Creators’ App.
- Supports network streaming by setting it up in the Creators’ App.
- Supports Monitor & Control, a mobile application for video shooting that enables video monitoring and remote control on a smartphone or tablet.
- Automatically create still images from video frames with shot marks after shooting.
- Increased the maximum number of images that can be stored in one folder to 9,999.
- Displays Wi-Fi signal strength.
- Enables “Focus Magnification” and “Automatic Focus Magnification in MF” during bright monitoring.
- Notifies users if new camera software is available.
- Displays custom grid lines (requires a license).
- Improved an issue where auto review may not be displayed on the camera when outputting via HDMI.

FX3 Main Unit Software Update Ver. 6.00
- Select exposure time from “shutter speed” or “shutter angle” when shooting video.
- Assign three different flags to clips - OK/NG/KEEP – during or after video shooting.
- Improved image quality when using User 3D LUT.
- Added 709tone to the color mode of the picture profile.
- Notifies users if new camera software is available.
