Starting in 2022, the Faculty of Foreign Studies will offer a “Japanese Language Teacher Training Program
” where students can obtain qualifications (minor level) to teach Japanese to foreigners whose native language is not Japanese. . The domestic training was held from September 18th to September 21st at the Japan Foundation Kansai International Center (Osaka Prefecture), which plays a central role in promoting Japanese language education in Japan, and four second-year students from the Faculty of Foreign Studies participated. did.
The training was conducted to deepen students’ understanding of four points: (1) Japanese language education and e-learning, (2) easy Japanese, (3) mindset as a teacher, and (4) the significance of working in a foreign country. In addition to special lectures from Japanese language education experts, we also had the opportunity to learn about Japanese language education from a global perspective through interactions with trainees from over 40 countries.
Through this training, the participating students not only acquired practical skills in Japanese language education, but also experienced and deepened their understanding of the forefront of Japanese language education, raising their awareness of their role as educators in bridging international understanding. In the future, it is expected to play a role in “connecting” Japan and the rest of the world.
