Unlocking Global Success: Kibo, iM Bank, and SME Innovation Unite for Explosive Growth
[일요신문] The Korea Technology Finance Corporation (KTFC) announced on the 13th that it signed a ‘Business Agreement for Financial Support for Dynamic Innovative Growth and Globalization of SMEs’ with iM Bank (iM Bank, President Hwang Byung-woo, hereinafter referred to as the Bank). This agreement was prepared so that both organizations can actively participate in the government’s major policies such as the ‘New Growth 4.0 Strategy’, ‘SME Globalization Strategy’, and ‘Customized Corporate Finance Support Plan’ to overcome the complex economic crisis and support the innovative growth of SMEs.According to the agreement, Kibo will provide preferential support for special contribution agreement guarantees worth a total of KRW 18 billion with KRW 1 billion in special contributions from banks as the source of funds, and will provide benefits such as ▲increased guarantee ratio (85% → 100%, for 3 years) and ▲reduction of guarantee fees (0.2%p↓, for 3 years), in order to reduce the financial costs of small and medium-sized enterprises and promote innovative growth.
The target companies for support are small and medium-sized enterprises in the fields of ▲New Growth 4.0 ▲Support for export companies ▲Establishment of startup ecosystem ▲Strengthening competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises ▲Sustainable growth (ESG) among new technology businesses that meet the technology guarantee requirements of Kibo, and they will also receive interest rate reduction benefits from banks through preferential special contribution agreement guarantees.
Kim Jong-ho, Chairman of Kibo, said, “Through this agreement, Kibo will expand financial support for companies operating in new growth, future strategic industries and export companies, and actively support the global expansion of small and medium-sized enterprises.” He added, “Going forward, Kibo will do its best to support the successful implementation of the government’s national agenda and create a vibrant people’s economy.”
