UNSAM (Universidad Nacional de San Martín) continues its dedication to fostering a safe and inclusive surroundings with extensive training programs rooted in the Micaela Law. Since 2019, the Gender and Sexual Diversity Directorate has been instrumental in providing education to the entire university community. This initiative aligns with Law No. 27,499, which mandates gender training and addresses violence against women. UNSAM formally adopted this law through resolution No. 75/19 of the Superior Council.
These training sessions are designed to cultivate awareness and proactively prevent instances of gender violence and discrimination within the university setting. The curriculum adheres to the essential guidelines of the Micaela Law, emphasizing gender perspectives and strategies for addressing violence.
Integrating Gender Perspectives in Higher Education

The training is structured around several key thematic areas:
- Introduction to the perspective of gender and sexual diversity:
This module explores roles and stereotypes, sexual difference (dichotomies), gender, and the gender perspective. It also examines inequality indicators within the university environment.
- The gender perspective in the construction of scientific knowledge:
This section delves into feminist epistemology, women’s studies, gender studies, sexual diversity and queer studies, the intersectional perspective, and male studies.
- Violence and discrimination for gender reasons and access to rights:
Participants learn about the theoretical and normative framework on gender violence, university regulations and actions, and the university’s integral counseling services.
Course Modality and Progress
The course has been adapted into a virtual format in collaboration with the institutional Distance Education System (SIED). This ensures accessibility and flexibility for all members of the UNSAM community.
The virtual course is structured to be completed within three weeks,with each module designed to take approximately one week. Students can progress at their own pace, provided they complete the course within the three-week timeframe.
Each module includes a main document outlining key theoretical concepts, supplemented by bibliography, audiovisual materials, normative instruments, and relevant awareness campaigns. participants are required to complete an evaluation activity at the end of the training to receive certification.
