A highly anticipated new trailer for Alan Wake 2 has been released, leaving fans questioning the fate of the protagonist. Remedy Entertainment, the development studio behind the game, unveiled the trailer titled ‘Dark Place’ at the Gamescom 2023 Live Open Night event in Cologne, Germany on August 22nd.
In contrast to the Anderson-centric saga trailer released in May, Dark Place shines the spotlight on the main character, Alan Wake. Set against a backdrop of twisted time and space, the trailer expertly weaves elements of confusion as Alan finds himself trapped in a mysterious television realm.
Featuring Alan Wake’s novel ‘Return’ and an enigmatic figure known as the ‘religious leader,’ this trailer raises intriguing questions about the unfolding story. Furthermore, viewers are treated to in-game videos showcasing supernatural phenomena, such as Alan using flashes to create light sources and the sudden transformation of the environment, intensifying the already high expectations for the game.
In a recent announcement on official social media channels, it was revealed that the release date for Alan Wake 2 has been delayed to October 27th, in order to avoid overlapping with other game launches.

A new trailer has been released that questions the whereabouts of Alan Wake.
On the 22nd (local time), Remedy Entertainment unveiled the new Alan Wake 2 ‘Dark Place’ trailer at the Gamescom 2023 Live Open Night held in Cologne, Germany.
Unlike the Anderson-centric saga trailer released last May, Dark Place focuses on the main character, Alan Wake. Against a background of twisted time and space, the space where Alan is trapped, the television, and the story within intersect to create as much confusion as possible.

In this trailer, a novel called ‘Return’ written by Alan Wake and an ambassador called ‘religious leader’ appear, raising questions about how the story will develop. New in-game videos, such as dealing with supernatural phenomena by making light sources using flashes and a suddenly changing space, are also released, raising expectations.
On the other hand, Alan Wake 2 announced on the 18th that the release date would be delayed to October 27 to prevent overlapping release dates through official SNS.
