Exodus is a game that remains largely shrouded in mystery. Many of us know it as something from a former BioWare developer, starring Matthew McConaughey. However, we have more information on the upcoming sci-fi RPG thanks to a Q&A recently uploaded by the developer.
From details about Matthew McConaughey’s famous character (who is obviously crucial to the story) to more information about the diversity we can see in the wider galaxy, Exodus really wants to fill us in for years. It comes with a Mass Effect-shaped hole in the heart.
Time dilation is a key part of storytelling, so as you explore space and encounter a host of alien creatures, you may even bring some of them with you on your long journey. Executive producer Chad Robertson said: “As Exodus progresses through the decades, new characters will certainly be introduced to the game, but there is a core that will accompany you throughout the journey.
“This is very important for us because we want to create emotional connections with your companions, your loved ones and the other main characters in the game. So you will see them evolve with you because some of them will be with you. You go on your journey while others stay at home. At the end of the day, you will see this core again and again and develop a deep and fundamental relationship with them. Plus, when you return home, you will be in play to see other aspects of new relationships.
We don’t have a release date or window for Exodus yet, but it is in development for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
