US Military Conducts Strikes in Syria Following palmyra Attack

The United States military⁢ launched airstrikes in Syria on January 10,‌ 2026, targeting⁣ facilities used by Islamic State in Iraq‌ and Syria (ISIS). These strikes are in direct ⁣response to an ISIS ambush on January 3, 2026, in Palmyra, Syria, which resulted in the deaths of three American service members.

according to a⁢ statement released by the U.S. Department of Defense, the‌ strikes were conducted against multiple sites⁤ used by ISIS groups and affiliated organizations. The specific locations targeted and the types of facilities hit were not immediately disclosed.
