US Open: Sinner and Fritz ‌Advance to Men’s ⁣Singles Final

The final tournament of the four major tennis tournaments, the U.S. Open, ‍was ​held at the Billie Jean ⁢King National Tennis Center in New York on the⁤ 6th, with world number ​one⁤ Jannik Sinner ‍(Italy) and Taylor ⁤Fritz (United​ States) advancing to ‍the final in the men’s singles.

Sinner Overcomes Injury to⁤ Reach Historic‌ Final

Facing 25th seed‌ Jack Draper (Great Britain), Sinner ⁢won the first set 7-5, the second ‌set in a ‌tiebreak 7-6, and the ‌third⁢ set 6-2⁣ in straight sets to⁣ become the first Italian player to reach the US Open final.

Both players struggled in the match, with Draper struggling with the ‍high⁤ temperature and vomiting ⁣three times, and‌ Sinner hurting his wrist after a fall ⁢and having⁤ to ‌receive ‌treatment courtside.

Regarding his‌ injured wrist, Sinner commented, ⁢”The physiotherapist came to the court ‍right‍ away and treated it, so it seems to be fine. The ‌pain went ​away as‌ I continued playing after that, so I’m glad.” However, he also said, “I’ll see how it goes tomorrow⁣ when‌ the temperature drops. It will feel different. I hope it’s ⁣not something to worry about,” and expressed his hope that it won’t affect his final.

Fritz Powers ‌Through to First Grand Slam ‌Final

Fritz, the 12th⁤ seed, defeated ⁢20th seed Francis Tiafoe⁢ in a three-set victory over two American‍ players, 4-6, 7-5, 4-6, 6-4, 6-1, using his ‌powerful serve to hit⁣ 16 aces and reach his first Grand Slam final.

Tiafoe started‍ well but⁤ gradually ⁣lost steam and appeared to run out of steam in the deciding set, ‍with 50 unforced errors and nine double faults taking their toll.
