US warns Russia of ‘Ukraine crisis’ tension escalation

As the military crisis escalates along the Ukrainian border, the US has issued a strong warning to Russia. Secretary of State Tony Blincoln said “there could be huge consequences”, and even the words “the drums of war are heard.” Russia has also warned that it could deploy military infrastructure in Cuba if negotiations with the West fail.

U.S. Secretary of State Tony Blincoln appeared on the show and mentioned the possibility of strong sanctions against Russia.

The Russian military has also warned against large-scale military exercises near the Ukrainian border.

Michael Carpenter, the U.S. ambassador to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, had a higher level of remarks.

“We are currently facing a security crisis in Europe,” Carpenter said.

Earlier, the US and Russia held their first negotiations in Geneva, Switzerland on the 10th, and NATO and Russia held talks in Brussels, Belgium on the 12th, but negotiations broke down on both occasions.

And after negotiations between Russia and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe were held in Vienna, Austria on the 13th local time, the atmosphere became even worse.

Russia also warned that if negotiations fail, it could take steps such as deploying military infrastructure in Cuba or Venezuela.

It’s a remark reminiscent of the Cold War in 1962, when the former Soviet Union tried to build a military base in Cuba and deploy nuclear missiles aimed at the United States.

A dramatic compromise was reached when the United States promised not to invade Cuba and the Soviet Union agreed to withdraw its missiles.
