The victory secured a 3-0 record for the U.S.,winning their group. However, a goalkeeping blunder by Matt Freese threatened to derail the American effort.
Malik Tillman initially put the U.S.ahead, netting his third goal of the tournament in the 10th minute. But Freese, filling in for Matt Turner, gifted haiti an equalizer. His errant clearance led directly to Louicius Don Deedson’s goal in the 19th minute, highlighting potential goalkeeping concerns for the U.S. team as they look toward the World Cup.
