Video shows the moment in which Da Cunha attacks his ex-wife until she faints, and attacks her again when she regains consciousness. Despite the strong images, the deputy remains at large. Da Cunha was elected with a significant vote in SP after becoming known on the internet by publishing videos of police operations, many of them faked to gain views.
An unpublished video, recorded by Betina Grusiecki, 28 years old, former partner of federal deputy Carlos Alberto da Cunha, known as Delegado da Cunha, shows the parliamentarian uttering insults and threats against the woman.
Da Cunha, 46, elected by São Paulo with more than 180 thousand votes, was accused of violence against his ex-wife and became a defendant for the attacks in 2023. He became known on the internet sharing videos of police operations. Betina told the court that the parliamentarian hit her head against the wall and tried to suffocate her.
The images from the unreleased video were shown this Sunday night (17/3), on Fantástico, on TV Globo. The police chief became a defendant in October last year, in an action for violence against Betina Grusiecki, his ex-wife. According to the Public Ministry, he threatened and attacked Betina, in addition to causing material damage to her.
The last attack took place in the apartment where the couple lived, in Santos, on the coast of São Paulo. On October 13th last year, a Friday, they started arguing. That day, Betina said she was verbally attacked by the parliamentarian.
On Saturday, October 14th, it was Carlos Alberto da Cunha’s birthday. He spent the day outside with his children. According to Betina, her then partner returned home drunk. The video shown this Sunday (17/3) is precisely this recording made by Betina.
It is possible to hear the congressman insulting his then partner and saying he was going to kill her. In some moments, you can see Betina’s face, but most of the video only has audio.
– Da Cunha: “Run to mommy’s house”

After this moment, you can hear her panting. Soon after, he curses his ex-partner and threatens to shoot her. “[…] You bitch, I’m going to shoot your face,” says the politician.
