Television ⁢Academy Hall of Fame to Induct Davis, Winkler, O’Brien and More

The⁤ Television Academy has announced its Hall of Fame ⁢Class of 2025, featuring a diverse group of television legends. Actors viola Davis and Henry Winkler, alongside writer-producer Ryan Murphy and talk show host Conan O’Brien, will⁣ be inducted in August.The late live-event producer Don Mischer and composer Mike Post are also among the honorees.

All six inductees are Emmy Award winners. The 27th Hall of Fame class will be officially welcomed during the Televerse Festival on Saturday, august 16, at the ⁤JW Marriott in Los ⁣Angeles. Mischer will be honored posthumously, following his death in⁤ April at age 85.

Cris Abrego, ⁣chair of the Television Academy, ⁤lauded‍ the television icons ⁢for their lasting impact. “These trailblazing performers,⁣ creators and⁣ producers have left an indelible mark on our industry,” Abrego said. “Their groundbreaking ⁤work has shaped and‍ elevated the television landscape in profound ways.”

The Television Academy hall of Fame recognizes⁤ individuals with outstanding contributions to the television industry, spanning the arts, sciences, and management. Since its inception in 1984, it has enshrined more than 150 individuals.

Rick ‍Rosen, ⁤chair of the Hall of Fame Selection Committee, emphasized the honorees’ influence on⁤ storytelling.”All six honorees⁢ have elevated the art of storytelling and have had an extraordinary influence on television⁣ culture and history,” Rosen said.”Their transformative leadership and innovative work ⁢have made a lasting impact on the medium.”

Viola Davis⁢ was the first black actress to win the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead ⁣Actress in⁣ a Drama Series for ⁤her role in How to Get Away with Murder.

Don ⁤Mischer’s⁢ credits⁢ include the Emmys, Super Bowl ⁣Halftime⁢ shows, and the ⁢Olympic Games.⁤ He passed away April 11, 2025.

Ryan Murphy is known for bringing the stories of marginalized characters to ⁣mainstream audiences around the world with shows like Glee and American Horror ‍Story.

Conan O’Brien had a 28-year career as a late-night host, one of the longest tenures in late-night history.

Mike Post has written ⁤music for 7,200 ‍hours of TV,including Law & Order and the A-Team. Theme songs from The Rockford Files and hill Street blues became chart-topping records.

Henry Winkler has appeared in over 100 television series,including⁤ Happy Days and Barry.
