Thousands Gather in Support of Imprisoned Chairman Ke Wenzhe

On the evening of the 8th, the People’s Party rallied in support of imprisoned Chairman Ke Wenzhe, with thousands of people gathering in front of the establishment of Xiaokao Yuan.

Host Huang Chengying led the crowd in a show of solidarity, saying, “We have to lift our heads like grass, straighten our backs and walk.” The gathering was attended by key party players, including general secretary Huang Guochang, who complained to the ruling party.

Huang Guochang, general convener of the People’s Party Caucus, declared, “We gathered outside the legislature to declare war on the Democratic Progressive Party legislator (People) Zhang Qikai.” He also stated, “We are going to Beijing to report soon, why not only Abe and Chao?”

Internet celebrity director Chen Zhihan shouted three times in a row, “Lie Qingde liberates people!” Legislator Chen Zhaoji added, “What happened to KP can happen to everyone, and as long as you get a different opinion from the ruling party, you will suffer.”

Taichung City Council Counselor Kai Biru expressed his support for Chairman Ke, saying, “I hope that Chairman Ke will stay healthy and safe, and the law will be well explained.”

People’s Party Chairman Ko Wenzhe stated, “The most serious problem in Taiwan society is that there is a lack of justice in the judicial process, and the judiciary and the media have become political tools.” He added, “I hope that the judicial system will have basic fairness, and I also hope that Taiwan will do justice.”
