Deadly Shooting at Danville Gathering Leaves one Dead, Four Wounded
A gunfight at a large outdoor gathering in Danville, Virginia, resulted in one death and four injuries early Sunday. The Danville Police Department reported that the shooting occurred around 1:30 a.m. on private property near the North Carolina border.
Officers responding to reports of multiple shots fired discovered Jay’Shaun Tiejae White, 22, of Hurt, Virginia, dead at the scene. White had sustained a gunshot wound to his upper body and was found in a Chrysler sedan, police said.
The man believed to be driving the Chrysler was found on a nearby street, also suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to SOVAH Health hospital in danville; his condition is unknown. Two other men and a 19-year-old woman arrived at the same hospital in private vehicles with gunshot wounds, according to police. The three men remain hospitalized.
The initial investigation suggests an exchange of gunfire between individuals in the chrysler and others at the gathering, wich took place off the intersection of carver Drive and Cheyenne Drive, according to police.

Authorities have not announced any arrests and urge anyone with information about this Danville Virginia shooting to contact detectives.
