BLACKSBURG, Va. – Louisville’s football team secured a 28-16 victory over Virginia Tech at Lane Stadium on Saturday, February 14, 2026, marking their seventh win of the season and a significant step forward under head coach Jeff Brohm.
The Cardinals overcame a halftime deficit, scoring three unanswered touchdowns in the second half to seal the win. This victory improves Louisville’s record to 7-1 on the season, tying their fifth-best start in program history. It also extends their impressive streak of scoring at least 24 points in a game to 22 consecutive contests – an FBS-leading active streak.
Louisville’s ground game proved pivotal, racking up 231 rushing yards, marking the 14th 200-yard rushing game under Brohm’s leadership. The team also achieved its eighth second-half shutout under Brohm, a testament to their defensive adjustments and resilience. Remarkably, Louisville has now won 49 straight games when shutting out an opponent in the second half, a streak dating back to 1996.
The Cardinals also demonstrated their road prowess, improving to 9-3 on the road under Brohm. Brohm himself now boasts a 26-9 record at Louisville and an overall coaching record of 92-53.
Quarterback Miller Moss completed 19 of 28 passes for 136 yards, throwing one touchdown and one interception. He also contributed 11 yards on three carries. However, the game truly belonged to the running backs.
Running back Isaac Brown led all rushers with a dominant performance, carrying the ball 16 times for 126 yards and a touchdown. This marked the 10th 100-yard rushing game of his career, tying him for seventh most in program history. Brown punctuated his performance with a 52-yard touchdown run, his eighth career run of 50 yards or longer.
Keyjuan Brown continued his impressive form, adding 94 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries, building on a career-high 95-yard performance from the previous week. Brown sealed the Cardinals’ victory for the second consecutive week with a late touchdown run, this time a 24-yard sprint with just 2:16 remaining in the game.
The receiving corps also contributed, with Caullin Lacy hauling in 6 receptions for 53 yards, including a 24-yard touchdown catch – his second of the season. Lacy also showcased his versatility as a returner, amassing 106 punt return yards, tying for the eighth-most in a single game in program history. Chris Bell led all receivers with 8 receptions for 56 yards, pushing his team-leading season total to 740 yards.
The game against Virginia Tech brings Louisville’s record against the Hokies to 4-6 including a 1-3 record in Blacksburg. The win provides a boost for the Cardinals as they continue their season.
