Later on Friday, Trump indicated that tariffs could extend to other mobile phone manufacturers.

“It would⁢ be more,it would also ⁤be Samsung and anyone who manufactures that product,otherwise it would not be fair,” Trump told reporters. “Again, when they build their plant here there will be no tariffs. So they will build plants here.”

Trump also threatened to ‍increase import tariffs⁢ on goods from the European Union ⁢to “50% direct”⁢ starting June 1, citing stalled trade negotiations.
