Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, a Democrat and potential 2028 presidential candidate, called on his party to be more forceful in opposing President Donald Trump. Speaking at a Democratic Party convention in Columbia, S.C., Walz characterized Trump as a “bully” who needs to be confronted directly.
Walz, a former teacher, drew on his experience, stating that “The thing that bothers a teacher more than anything is to watch a bully… But when its an adult like Donald Trump you bully the s–-t out of him back.”

He also labeled Trump a “wannabe dictator” and an “existential threat,” urging democrats to “push back on the bullies and the greed.”
Maryland Gov. Wes moore, also present at the event, echoed the sentiment, saying, “We can and we must condemn Donald Trump’s reckless actions. But we would also be foolish not to learn from his impatience.”

The South Carolina event provided a platform for both Walz and Moore to present their messages in an early-voting state. While Moore has stated he will not run for president in 2028, Walz’s intentions remain unclear.
