Interviewer: Congratulations, Wang Weihua, on winning the Best Cinematography award at the 61st Golden Horse Awards! This marks your first win—how does it feel to finally achieve this dream?

Wang Weihua: Thank you so much! I won the Golden Horse Award today, and I feel that this dream has finally come true. This recognition is incredibly meaningful to me, especially after being nominated before in 2017 for “Easy + Happy.” It’s a validation of all the hard work I’ve put into my craft.

Interviewer: You mentioned in your acceptance speech that director Geng Jun played a significant role in your success. Can you elaborate on your collaboration with him?

Wang Weihua: Absolutely! Geng Jun and I have worked together on four projects now. His trust in my vision gives me the freedom to explore creatively. This collaboration has enabled me to bring my artistic ideas to life, and I am grateful for his support and guidance throughout the process.

Interviewer: You also expressed gratitude to your family during the ceremony. What role have they played in your journey as a photographer and cinematographer?

Wang Weihua: My family has been my backbone. The long hours and absences can be tough on personal relationships, but their unwavering support has kept me grounded. They understand my passion, and I can’t thank them enough for their sacrifices.
