Wang Yi Meets with Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov During UN General Assembly

On September 25, local time, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov during the UN General Assembly in New York.

Wang Yi highlighted the significance of the recent meetings between President Xi Jinping and President Putin, stating that these encounters have provided crucial strategic guidance for bilateral relations. The two leaders have met twice this year, laying the groundwork for further cooperation.

As the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia approaches, Vice Minister Wang Yi emphasized the importance of preparing and coordinating joint celebrations. Wang Yi underscored the key principles that have enabled Sino-Russian relations to flourish over the past three quarters of a century.
