Want to play T20 World Cup for England, Jofra Archer

Star England fast bowler Jofra Archer has said that he wants to play in the World Cup as he is unable to deal with any more injuries.

Archer has struggled with fitness issues since making his international debut in 2019, but is now on the mend and is set to play in June’s T20 World Cup in the US and his native Caribbean islands.

The fast bowler, who last played international cricket 11 months ago, is still unsure whether he will be able to participate in the mega event, having been sidelined from competitive cricket due to a recurrent stress fracture in his right elbow.

“Honestly I don’t know how much longer I have to wait, I haven’t played cricket for a long time,” Archer said. Last year I played cricket from January to May.

“I really want to be in the team,” the fast bowler said. I want to play back at the old house. I didn’t play for England this year, so I think it would be really nice to play the World Cup.

England, taking a cautious approach to him, barred him from playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) while also keeping him out of Test cricket until next year.

The England team plans to field Jofra in the T20 World Cup, where he will defend his title in the West Indies and USA events.
