In a bid to mend a pesky sewer break, Washington Township residents are being asked to temporarily tighten their water belts. "We’re all in this together," says the township, "and your cooperation will help us fix this faster."
How You Can Help:

Conserve Water: From now until Friday, January 31, let’s all do our part to reduce water usage. That means:
- Skipping the dishwasher and washing machine.
- Taking shorter showers.
- Minimizing toilet flushes – only flush when necessary.
- Turning off the water while brushing teeth.
- Avoid ‘Pooling’ Water: Let’s keep water from gathering and creating potential issues.

- Stay Away from the Middle Branch of the Clinton River: It’s best to keep a safe distance until we’ve sorted this out.
- Sewage Safety: If you come into contact with human sewage, remember to:
- Wash your hands with soap and water immediately.
- Avoid touching your face, mouth, eyes, nose, or open wounds.
- Keep wounds covered with clean, dry bandages.
- Use waterproof gloves to protect your hands.
- Don’t smoke or chew tobacco/gum while handling sewage.
