The Italian team Fiorentina advanced to the final match in the European Football Conference League championship, after snatching a 1-1 draw with the taste of victory from its host club Club Brugge on Wednesday in the second leg of the semi-finals of the continental competition.

The first-leg match, which was held between the two teams last week in the Italian city of Florence, ended with Fiorentina winning 3-2, so the Italian team won the ticket to the final match after winning 4-3 on aggregate in the two-legged matches.

At the Jan Breydal Stadium, Brugge scored through Maxime De Cuyper, but Argentine Lucas Beltran equalized for Fiorentina in the 85th minute from a penalty kick.

Brugge ended the match with ten players after its Ghanaian player, Denis Odoi, was sent off in the fourth minute of stoppage time in the second half for receiving a second warning.

Fiorentina, which qualified for the second consecutive final in the tournament, set a date in the final match that will be held on May 29 in the Greek capital, Athens, with the winner of the other semi-final between Olympiacos of Greece and Aston Villa of England.

The first leg, which was held at Villa Park in England between the two teams last Thursday, ended with a 4-2 victory for Olympiacos over Aston Villa, noting that the return match will be held tomorrow, Thursday, in Athens.

Fiorentina, which lost the final of the last edition of the Conference League to English West Ham United, is seeking to become the second Italian team to win the championship title after Roma, which won the first edition of the competition in 2022.
