Waterlogging Forces Closure of Educational Institutions in Kerala

In response to the persistent waterlogging situation, educational institutions in certain regions of Kerala have been forced to close tomorrow. The affected areas include Kottayam, Changanassery, and Vaikom taluks of Kottayam district, as well as Kuttanad taluk of Alappuzha district. Additionally, Tiruvalla taluk in Pathanamthitta district will also observe a holiday.
In Changanassery and Vaikom taluks, schools operating under caps will also remain closed. The district Collectors have taken this decision to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff amidst challenging weather conditions.
Unforeseen holidays for operators working under caps
- Earlier holidays were declared for educational institutions in Kottayam taluk.
- Professional colleges, Anganwadis, and schools running relief camps in Changanassery and Vaikom taluks are also affected.
- Pre-arranged public examinations are excluded from this holiday announcement.
Kuttanad Taluk Faces Educational Disruption
The Alappuzha Collector, on the other hand, has confirmed holidays for schools, professional colleges, learning centers, and Anganwadis in Kuttanad taluk, including the reserve camps. However, there will be no alteration in the schedule for pre-arranged exams.
The authorities have urged students, parents, and staff to cooperate and adhere to safety guidelines until normalcy is restored in the affected areas. Additional updates will be provided as the situation progresses.

Alappuzha Collector informed that there will be holidays for schools, professional colleges, learning centres, Anganwadis and educational institutions in Kuttanad taluk including reserve camps in the area. There will be no change in the pre-arranged exams.
