Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti came out to respond to the refereeing controversy in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich.
Real succeeded in turning the tables on the Bavarian giant, after being 1-0 down, and came back with a brace from Joselu in the 88th and 91st minutes of the match. Amid doubts about a disallowed goal for Bayern, Bavarian defender Matthijs de Ligt confirmed that the assistant referee admitted the error in not counting it. .
Ancelotti responded to all of this, saying in the match press conference: “The offside ball is difficult to explain. Maybe the ball is not offside, but the referee blew his whistle before the goal and because of that we stopped playing.”

He added: “Bayern Munich are complaining about the offside ball? Well, we will also complain about Nacho’s disallowed goal. Joshua Kimmich dived.”
It is worth noting that Real’s victory led them to the Champions League final to face Borussia Dortmund, a confrontation that will be held next June 1 at Wembley Stadium.
