Walking Your ⁣Way to Weight Loss: Influencer Justin O’Regan ⁤Reveals Surprising Cardio Secret

Could⁢ too much cardio be sabotaging your weight loss efforts? Weight loss coach and influencer ‍Justin O’Regan,⁢ who famously shed over 130 pounds in his early twenties, says yes. in a recent⁤ Instagram video,O’Regan revealed what he believes is the “number one mistake people make when⁣ trying to lose weight” – relying ⁢too heavily on cardio. While cardio undoubtedly burns calories and boosts cardiovascular health, O’Regan warns that it can also⁤ trigger increased hunger, leading to overeating and potentially negating any calorie ⁣deficit achieved.

“When I lost 130 pounds, I hardly did any cardio,” O’Regan explained in the video. “Of course, it burns calories, but it also⁢ makes you hungrier, which can lead to eating back all the calories you ⁢just burned—and sometimes even more.”

So, what’s the solution? O’Regan recommends ditching the intense cardio ⁤sessions ⁢and embracing a simpler, more enduring approach: walking.

“Take a few short walks throughout⁢ the day to increase‍ your step count,” he suggests. “You’ll burn the same amount ⁣of calories, if⁣ not more, without the extra hunger or soreness.”

For beginners, O’Regan recommends aiming for 8,000 to 10,000 steps daily, ⁢gradually increasing to 12,000–15,000 steps for optimal fat-burning results. This method not ⁤only helps manage hunger but also minimizes the physical strain associated with ⁢high-impact workouts.
