State Workers Receive Extra Time Off for Thanksgiving
CHARLESTON, W.Va. — State workers will enjoy extra time off for Thanksgiving this year.
Governor Jim Justice announced this during his media briefing on Tuesday. He stated that Wednesday will be a half-day of work, and Friday will be a day off after Thanksgiving Day.
Justice praised state employees, saying, “They do great, great work for us every day.” He also noted that this action is similar to what he did last year.
In his remarks, Justice encouraged residents to reflect on their blessings and help others during the holiday season. He said, “Please reach out a helping hand. It’s a time of year for family. We don’t want anyone lonely.”
This initiative provides workers with a longer weekend to celebrate and to connect with loved ones.
