West Virginia Volleyball Team Defeated by No. 19 Utah

The West Virginia University volleyball team lost 3-0 to No. 19 Utah at the Jon M. Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City. The team’s record is now 8-18 overall and 2-13 in the Big 12 Conference.

• Hailey Green: Led the team with eight kills.

• Kristen McBride: Achieved a career-high eight digs.

Match Summary:

First Set:

West Virginia started strong, leading 2-0 thanks to a service ace from Quincey Coyle. They continued well, reaching 15 points first at 15-12. However, Utah responded with an 8-0 run, claiming the set 25-17.

Second Set:

Utah took an early lead of 2-0. West Virginia fought back with a kill from Lauren DeLo, trailing 9-6. Utah built a solid lead, ultimately winning the set 25-15.

Third Set:

Utah again led 2-0. Ibrahim’s kills helped tie the set at 8. West Virginia briefly led 12-9. Yet, Utah took control, finishing the set 25-16 and winning the match.

West Virginia will face No. 24 BYU on November 23 at 3 p.m. ET in Provo, Utah.
