WhatsApp is experimenting with an AI-driven feature to summarize unread messages within chats, groups, and channels. This new tool, currently in beta for Android users, aims to⁤ provide speedy recaps, especially in⁣ conversations with a notable backlog of messages. The WhatsApp AI summaries feature coudl ‍save ⁤users time and effort.

The AI summaries, discovered by WABetaInfo,⁤ are part of an⁢ opt-in system called Private processing. Once enabled, a “Summarize⁤ with Meta AI” button appears when there ⁢are numerous unread messages. Tapping this button generates a brief overview of the ⁢conversation, offering a convenient way to catch up.

WhatsApp emphasizes that message content is neither stored nor linked to users during this process. The summarization occurs in‍ a secure,isolated ⁤cloud environment,and the summaries are promptly deleted after use.
