Who Destroyed the Kachowka Dam? Telltale photo surfaced

More evidence sheds light on the background to the blasting of the Kachowka dam. Now a photo with a white car and a strange load is added.

On June 6, at 2:35 a.m. local time and again at 2:54 a.m., two explosions occurred at the Kakhovka Dam in southern Ukraine. Seismic institutes in Ukraine and Romania registered the tremors. Images taken by US satellites also showed strong heat development at the dam, which was controlled by Russian troops at the time.

A photo leaked to the AP news agency by Ukrainian security circles is now said to prove that Russia was responsible for the blast. It shows a white car with revealing contents.

Shortly after the explosions, the 30 meter high dam wall cracked. Eventually, the 2-mile wall collapsed and 18 billion cubic meters of water spilled onto the fertile plains east of Kherson. The city, which is again under Ukrainian control after being recaptured last year, is considered a strategically important metropolis and has since made the Ukrainian counteroffensive more difficult.

But not only that, the rupture of the dam and the subsequent flood catastrophe resulted in enormous damage. People died, villages were devastated and agricultural land was permanently destroyed.

Both Ukraine and Russia have denied responsibility for the destruction of the dam. But more and more evidence is emerging that points to Russia as the cause of the targeted demolition. A photo that has now been published is intended to support the thesis put forward by many experts in the past few days.

“But it didn’t go as planned”

The shot shows a white car parked in the middle of the embankment. The roof of the vehicle is open and reveals the view inside the car. Inside are barrels and what appears to be a land mine. A cable used to detonate explosives can also be seen on it. The cable runs from the white car to the side of the dam where the Russian positions are.

The photograph was taken by a Ukrainian drone and leaked to the Associated Press news agency. It should be what is called a “smoking gun” in English. So striking, unequivocal proof of who is responsible for the destruction of the dam.

The AP also learned from Ukrainian security sources that the car, filled with explosives, was intended to deter Ukrainian troops from crossing the dam. Accordingly, the bomb in the car was intended to reinforce the detonation that took place in the engine room of the dam with another detonation. The seismographic recordings support this thesis.

Ukraine also claims to have intercepted the telephone conversation of a Russian soldier, according to which Russian sabotage troops were deployed at the dam. “They wanted to stir up panic with it (the blast). But it didn’t go as planned,” he is said to have said, according to the Ukrainian secret service.
