Providing individualized instruction tailored to each student’s learning level
[From London]The Los Angeles Unified School District, the second largest in the United States, consists of the city of Los Angeles and 25 smaller cities, towns, and villages, and has more than 540,000 children from kindergarten to 12th grade, the completion of compulsory education. The school district area is 1,839 square kilometers, slightly smaller than Osaka Prefecture. The children speak more than 90 native languages.
In March of this year, the company introduced a learning acceleration platform chatbot called “Ed” to improve children’s academic performance. It was advertised as offering individualized guidance and learning resources to children and parents in over 100 languages, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, tailored to their learning level.
Using artificial intelligence (AI), the system reports on key academic indicators such as grades, test scores, and attendance. Based on the information about each child, it creates a plan tailored to each child and improves their learning. It is expected to improve children’s interactions and maximize communication between families.
Not only children, but Ed also evolves as data accumulates. Interactive activities can be enjoyed at your own pace, like a game. It is a dream educational friend designed to understand emotions such as joy and sadness and to bring out the infinite potential of children.
