A9 Dualling Gathers Pace as Tay Crossing Contract Awarded
Scotland’s Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Fiona Hyslop, has announced the intention to award the contract for the Tay Crossing to Ballinluig, signalling significant progress in the ambitious A9 dualling program between Perth and Inverness.
This progress marks a crucial step forward in the long-awaited project, with Hyslop highlighting the continued momentum in the delivery plan. “When work commences on this section, we will have active dualling works at both the southern and northern extents of the Programme’s corridor – a clear sign of the momentum behind our delivery plan,” she stated.
The procurement process saw the receipt of three valid tenders, a factor that Hyslop believes underscores the value for money being achieved. “We can also be confident that our investment in this A9 Dualling contract demonstrates value for money, and that the changes we have made to our contracts in recent years are making a real difference,” she added.
