A Critical Update

Windows 11 version 21H2, released in October 2021, has reached the end of its service life. After October 2023, all updates, including crucial security patches, will cease to be available. Continuing to use this outdated version poses significant risks and is strongly discouraged.

To determine the version of your operating system, you can use the “winver” command in the “Run” dialog or Command Prompt. Alternatively, accessing the “Settings” app through the right-click menu of the “Start” button is another option.

In order to ensure the security and productivity of its users, Microsoft has already begun automatically deploying the Windows 11 version 22H2 feature update on unmanaged consumer and business devices. If you encounter a dialog box notifying you of an impending restart for an important update, be aware that the operating system will restart automatically during non-operational hours. We recommend saving your work and manually restarting the operating system to complete the update.

It is essential to note that the service period for the Enterprise and Education editions of Windows 11 is three years, allowing users to receive security updates until October 8, 2024.

“Windows 11 version 21H2” is the first version of “Windows 11” released in October 2021. The Home / Pro edition of Windows 11 has a two-year service period, which will end in October 2023.
