MALCOLM, Neb. – Frustration is mounting in northern Lancaster County as Windstream customers face prolonged internet outages, some lasting for weeks.
Several residents in the malcolm area contacted 10/11 NOW on Thursday, reporting internet service disruptions that have stretched on for days, and in some cases, up to three weeks.
“We were told service would be restored by [date], but that came and went,” said one exasperated customer. Others echoed similar experiences, expressing disappointment with the lack of dialog and the extended downtime.
10/11 NOW reached out to Windstream for comment.A spokesperson acknowledged the issue, attributing the outage to a contractor working for another internet provider who accidentally severed Windstream’s cable in late November.
“Our crews will be on site tomorrow to repair the damage,” the spokesperson stated. “We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate our customers’ patience.”
