Lancaster⁤ County Residents Left in the Dark as Windstream Outage Drags On

MALCOLM, Neb. – Frustration is mounting in northern Lancaster County as Windstream customers face prolonged‌ internet outages, some lasting ⁢for⁢ weeks.

Several residents in the malcolm area contacted 10/11 NOW on Thursday, reporting internet service disruptions that have stretched on for days, and in some cases, ⁤up to three weeks.

“We were told service​ would be restored by [date], but ⁤that ‌came and went,” ‌said ⁢one exasperated customer. Others echoed ⁤similar experiences, expressing disappointment with the lack of dialog and the extended downtime.

10/11⁣ NOW reached out to Windstream for comment.A spokesperson acknowledged the issue, attributing the outage to‌ a contractor working for another internet provider who accidentally⁢ severed Windstream’s cable in late ‌November.

“Our crews will be on site​ tomorrow ‌to ‍repair the damage,” the spokesperson stated. “We apologize ‍for the inconvenience and ⁢appreciate our customers’ patience.”

The prolonged​ outage has left residents scrambling to‍ find​ choice‍ ways to connect,highlighting the ⁣critical role reliable internet access plays in today’s world.
