Wire bras cause breast cancer? – Comedy.com

It is a baseless rumor. There are many misconceptions about breast cancer other than bras. American health media ‘Medical News Today’ asked an expert.

◆Wire bras = “Wearing a bra with a wire does not increase the risk of breast cancer,” said Michael Gidman, a professor at Mount Sinai Medical School in New York. “I also recommend a bra without wires,” he explained, “because wires can irritate the skin under the breasts and cause inflammation.”

◆Piercings = Nipple piercings do not increase the risk of breast cancer. “However, nipple piercings are not recommended because they can cause infection and make breastfeeding difficult,” said Professor Zidman.

◆Family history = If there is no history of breast cancer in the family, the idea that it is safe is wrong. Professor Crystal Panzer of the St. John’s Cancer Institute said, “Only 5 to 10 percent of cases of breast cancer are due to genetic mutations inherited from ancestors.” Family history is just one of many risk factors, so it’s important to have regular checkups. Professor Panzer said, “It is good for women over 40 to get breast cancer screening every year, regardless of family history.”

◆Mammography = There is a concern that examining the breast with X-rays rather increases the risk of cancer. Professor Zidman said, “There is no evidence that breast X-rays, as well as chest X-rays, or needle biopsies increase the risk of cancer.”

◆Abortion = There is speculation that an abortion disrupts the normal hormonal cycle associated with pregnancy, increasing the risk of breast cancer. It has absolutely no scientific basis. An analysis of 15 million women in Denmark found no relationship between abortion and breast cancer. There are many other studies that have reached similar conclusions.

◆ lump = You can feel a lump on your chest, but it may not be breast cancer, and even if you don’t feel a lump at all, it could be breast cancer. This is why X-rays are necessary to properly detect breast cancer. In some cases, even if cancer cells have spread to other organs, the lump is not felt at all.
