Kollam Woman Arrested for Attempting to Impersonate Clerk in Revenue Department

Kollam, Kerala – In an alarming incident, a woman named R Rakhi, aged 25, was apprehended by Kollam East Police for attempting to secure a job as a clerk in the revenue department using a fraudulent appointment order. The incident occurred at the Karunagappally taluk office on Saturday morning.

Accompanied by her husband and relatives, Rakhi submitted an advice memo and appointment order to the tehsildar at the taluk office. However, upon closer inspection, the tehsildar grew suspicious of the documents and immediately contacted the district PSC office. Further scrutiny revealed that the appointment order was fake, as it was issued by a Divisional Officer from the Revenue Department, instead of the authorized Collector. The PSC office also confirmed that no advice memo had been issued to a candidate named Rakhi.

Despite the evidence against her, Rakhi attempted to shift the blame onto the PSC office. Nevertheless, the tehsildar advised her and her family to contact the PSC office for further clarification and sent them away. Aware of the seriousness of the situation, the tehsildar promptly informed the Collector and the Karunagappally ACP about the incident.

Meanwhile, Rakhi and her relatives proceeded to the Kollam district PSC office, where they caused a commotion. Officials, including PSC Regional Officer TA Thangam, demanded to see the original documents but were only presented with copies on their mobile phones, including the rank list. Subsequent verification revealed a shocking revelation – Rakhi’s name had been artificially added as the 22nd rank, replacing the rightful candidate named Amal. Furthermore, Rakhi had distributed this counterfeit rank list instead of the authentic one for the post of Secretariat Assistant.

As the truth emerged, some of Rakhi’s relatives alerted the media and misled them, exacerbating the situation. Understanding the gravity of the offense, the security at the PSC office prevented Rakhi from leaving. Consequently, Kollam East Police registered a case based on a complaint filed by PSC Regional Officer TA Thangam, and a thorough examination of the documents provided by Rakhi confirmed their inauthenticity. It was also discovered that Rakhi had not taken the HR Clerk exam conducted by the PSAC.

During the investigation, Rakhi confessed to forging the documents using a mobile app and sending them to her own address. Shockingly, she even demonstrated to the police how these fraudulent documents were made. The accused is currently being interrogated under the supervision of Control Room CI Jose and SI East VJ Dipin. Additionally, the PSC has recorded statements from district officers.

Rakhi’s relatives, who were implicated in the incident, were subsequently released by the police. Authorities are now investigating whether Rakhi received assistance from anyone in forging the document. This case serves as a startling reminder of the importance of thorough verification procedures and the repercussions of attempting to deceive the government recruitment process.
