Jeddah: The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Countries, Hussain Ibrahim Taha, has stated that he will stand with the country against the accusations aimed at Qatar, which will host the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Qatar is the first member state in the Islamic world to host such a competition. The OIC sees this issue as a humanitarian and global issue. Its aim is to spread the spirit of unity and interdependence among the nations of the world.

The new allegations have come to light as Qatar begins its preparations to host the World Cup. The Secretary General said that this is the first time that a country hosting the World Cup has come under such accusations and criticism.

He was speaking at the 5th Conference of Ministers of Youth and Sports of the Member States held in Jeddah, he praised Qatar’s willingness to host the World Cup football tournament. He added that by hosting the World Cup, Arab and Muslim youth will have the opportunity to be more proud, and will support many youth initiatives.
