CANYON, Texas – The West Texas A&M Buffaloes begin the spring portion of their golf schedule on Monday and Tuesday, participating in the Houston Classic hosted by Southern Nazarene at the Golf Club of Houston in Humble, Texas. The par-72 course will play at 7,422 yards.

This marks the Buffs’ first competitive action since October 14-15, when they finished seventh at the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invitational in Amarillo.

For the first 36 holes on Monday, West Texas A&M is scheduled to be paired with teams from Harding and Southern Arkansas. Play is set to begin with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m.

The West Texas A&M lineup for the Houston Classic includes Jack Lankford, Pepe De La Concepción Quílez, Luis Palomo, Victor Estas, and Santiago Caride. David Vega Gerstel will compete as an individual.

The team will be aiming to improve upon their seventh-place finish at the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invitational and establish a strong foundation for the remainder of their schedule.

The Golf Club of Houston, the tournament’s venue, is known for its challenging layout and demanding conditions. Players will need to demonstrate precision and consistency to navigate the course effectively. The combination of length and strategic bunkering will test every aspect of the players’ games.
