WWE Star Jade Cargill reveals Aspiring-and Blocked-Plans for Extreme Match
WWE Superstar Jade Cargill recently revealed a desire to push the boundaries of wrestling, specifically during her no Holds Barred match against Naomi at July’s Evolution event. In a recent interview, Cargill detailed how she and Naomi pitched several ideas to take the match to a more extreme level, but those ideas were ultimately rejected due to safety concerns.
Cargill explained that she and Naomi had requested the use of mace and even razor blades. While she expressed a willingness to embrace the intensity, she acknowledged the potential danger to the audience. “There was so much we wanted to use that was asked. We wanted to use mace, that was going to be tough. And then we wanted to use razors, and that was going to be tough, but I welcome it! I wish we were able to use the mace. [But] we gotta think about the crowd, we don’t want anybody in the crowd to be maced, because mace goes so far…That would’ve been wild! The whole first front row would have been lit with mace!”
Beyond the desire for more intense weaponry, Cargill emphasized her love for fan interaction and Naomi’s vision for incorporating the audience into the match. “I love interacting with the crowd. One, you get your money’s worth. But two, it’s that moment that people bring back with them, and they forever talk about it.”
The conversation also took a more personal turn as Cargill recounted a moment of vulnerability from her career. She shared a story about slipping off the top rope during a match at last year’s Clash at the Castle PLE in glasgow, Scotland. “I’ve never failed in wrestling, was when I got on that top rope and I had failed. Everybody backstage was comforting me, and I remember people were showing me their mishaps.I’m like, “Yeah, but you gotta understand, it’s my first one. It was on TV! Oh my gosh. And everybody’s like, “Jade, look, let me show you my time. This is mine and this is mine.” but that was my most embarrassing moment.”
Looking ahead,Cargill is set to participate in WWE’s upcoming European tour, with appearances scheduled for Friday Night SmackDown in Dublin,Ireland on August 22nd,and the Clash in Paris PLE on Sunday,August 31st.
