Microsoft’s Shift in Gaming Strategy: No More Xbox Consoles in the Middle East?
Microsoft’s Xbox gaming division has undergone significant changes in recent years, with the company releasing exclusive games on competing platforms like the PS5 and Nintendo Switch. Now, according to recent reports, Microsoft is considering ceasing sales of Xbox consoles in the Middle East region, starting with the next generation.
Arab journalist and founder of True Gaming Network, Muhammad al-Bassimi, revealed new details about Microsoft’s strategy in the Middle East region. Al-Bassimi stated that the American company is considering stopping the sale of Xbox devices in the region, focusing instead on PC Game Passes and hardware accessories.
“Microsoft is considering stopping selling Xbox devices in the Middle East. There is also a possibility that their next mobile device will not be released in Saudi Arabia. The company’s focus in this region will be only on PC Game Passes and hardware accessories.”
Al-Bassimi shared this information through his official social media account, expressing confidence in his statement. With Microsoft scheduled to release the next generation of Xbox consoles in 2026, it appears that the next generation of Xbox may not be available in the Middle East region.
